Description
A stinger — an extra hook set at the tail of a soft plastic lure.
A predator often attacks the lure from behind and takes only the tail, leaving the main hook empty; a stinger turns such a bite into a fish landed. It is especially useful in cold water and with passive fish, when hits are short and tentative. It is mounted on a ready wire or split ring so it does not change the lure action.
