A marker weight for reading the bottom and marking a fishing spot.
Before baiting up, the weight is drawn across the bottom: resistance tells you sand, silt, gravel or weed, while the drop time gives the depth. Once a promising spot is found it is marked with a float or a line clip so every cast lands on the same point. The exact weight is given in the technical data.
